SOLaws is an educational resource dedicated to improving public understanding of sex offender registration laws in the United States. We organize state law summaries, policy updates, and carefully reviewed community-informed insights so people can better understand legal duties and avoid preventable compliance mistakes.

Community experiences
Community submissions reflect individual experiences and may not apply universally. They are published to add context, not to replace legal advice or official guidance.
Booked 6 weeks out, no issues at check-in. Called their security line ahead of time to confirm. They do not currently screen against the registry at booking but policies can change. Tier 2 offense, 8 years post-conviction.
State says 500ft from schools. Pierce County enforces 1000ft AND adds parks and bus stops not mentioned in state code. Got this from my PO directly. If you're in King County it's different again. Always check local ordinances, not just state law.
Spent 2 years applying and tracking results. Amazon flex — no. FedEx ground contractors — some do, some don't, depends on contractor. Local distribution warehouses — 3 out of 7 hired without issue. Happy to share specifics in the replies.
